Electrical safety threat

Notification of electrical safety threat The most important requirement for electrical safety is the proper condition of the insulation of household electrical networks and electrical appliances.

In order to comply with electrical safety, it is strictly prohibited to:

– approach broken wires no closer than 8 meters (electric shock can occur even a few meters from the wire);

– open the doors of electrical installation enclosures and penetrate fences and barriers;

– enter the territory and premises of electrical facilities;

– try to penetrate transformer substations for any purpose,

– to make unauthorized switching of electrical devices and connections to electrical networks;

– climb onto power line poles, climb onto roofs of buildings, climb trees near which overhead lines pass; try to remove power lines;

– touch wires that are hanging or on the ground;

– allow children to climb trees that grow under power lines;

– erect any structures, stack firewood, straw, etc., light fires under power lines and air inlets of buildings;

– to place playgrounds, as well as to play games under overhead lines, to fly kites near overhead lines, and to play near electrical installations.

Timely notification of an electrical safety threat allows for prompt response and rapid localization of events that pose a threat to the electrical safety of people and animals, and may lead to equipment malfunctions or accidents at work.

In case of detection of events that pose a threat to electrical safety: broken or sagging power transmission wires, open doors or hatches of electrical installations, damaged supports, it is necessary to keep a safe distance from the scene of the incident, notify others about the danger, prevent random passers-by or animals from approaching the scene of the incident and report what happened by calling the Call Center number of the Distribution (Transmission) System Operator, on whose territory the electrical installation is located and/or by calling the Supplier's office number +38 (099) 358 17 89 (Mon-Fri from 08:00 to 17:00, Sat-Sun days off)

In the event of a fire in electrical appliances or installations, they should be immediately disconnected from the power supply and, if necessary, call the fire department by calling "101".

If dismantling of power lines by persons who are not employees of the Distribution System Operator (not wearing special clothing), theft or damage to electrical equipment, vandalism, or other illegal actions are detected, you must immediately contact the National Police by calling "102".
